Haverfordwest Carnival Is Back — and Bigger Than Ever on 15 August

Haverfordwest is gearing up for one of its most anticipated summer dates as the town carnival rolls back into the county town next Saturday, 15 August, promising a full day of free family entertainment organised once again by Pure West Radio and Haverfordwest Town Council.

The parade kicks off at noon from Scotchwell Car Park, with a procession of carnival floats winding through the town before the festival fun gets under way at Picton Playing Fields, where the action continues until 6pm.

Live stage performances are a centrepiece of this year's event, with the bill including Fast Food Rockers, K-POP act DemonHunters and local performer Kyan Fitt. Alongside the music there will be fairground rides, dance performances, children's entertainment, street food stalls and prize giveaways throughout the afternoon.

Last year's revival — the first carnival in six years after the pandemic ended a long-running tradition — drew large crowds and was hailed by organisers as exceeding all expectations. This year's event builds on that success, with organisers urging people to bring family and friends and help make 2026 the biggest edition yet.

The carnival is supported by local and regional sponsors including Specsavers, Cymru Quarry Group, RWE and Helping Hands, whose backing helps keep the event free to attend.

With the National Eisteddfod also having brought significant visitor numbers to Pembrokeshire earlier in August, the carnival falls at a moment when the county is already buzzing with summer activity. Local businesses along the parade route are expected to benefit from another well-attended afternoon in the town centre.

There is no charge for entry to the carnival. Organisers ask attendees to plan their travel early given expected demand for parking and to check Pure West Radio's social channels for any last-minute updates on the day.
