A teenage boy has been convicted of wounding with intent after attacking a teacher at Milford Haven Comprehensive School in Pembrokeshire, Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed on 24 July 2026.
The incident took place on Thursday, 5 February this year, when emergency services were called to the school following reports of an assault on a teacher by a pupil carrying a weapon. The school was placed in temporary lockdown at the time, though officers confirmed it was lifted on the same day.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, was tried at Swansea Crown Court. The jury convicted him of wounding with intent but cleared him of the more serious charge of attempted murder.
What Happened at the School
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that the teacher sustained stab wounds during the attack, which involved a kitchen knife, and was taken to hospital before later being discharged. The force at the time said there would be an increased police presence in the area in the days following the incident to provide reassurance to staff, pupils and the wider community.
The verdict brings to a close a case that shook the Milford Haven community earlier this year. Schools across Pembrokeshire and beyond took note, with the incident prompting wider conversations about knife crime in educational settings and the support available to staff.
Sentencing is expected to follow in due course. Dyfed-Powys Police have not yet confirmed a date.
